The Team

GayleGayle Russell McCauley Gayle’s passion of Pilates stems from her love of the Sciences. She received her undergraduate degree in Pre-Med from CSUN in 2000. She continued her Graduate level education at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine. She became a Yoga teacher. Then, there was Pilates! It was an instant love and passion. It made sense. She is certified in three comprehensive programs. She recently had the pleasure of training under Rael Isacowitz of Body Arts Science International (BASI) in his Comprehensive Program and participates in his Mentor Program. Gayle is grateful to Joseph H. Pilates for being a genius and creating this amazing work that she enjoys and shares in day after day. She believes Pilates is an empowering, life changing and inspirational experience.

AshleyAshley Ruetenik Ashley became interested in Pilates after watching her Mom do Pilates for over 15 years! She saw what amazing things it did for her body. She studied and worked as a physical therapy assistant at Core Conditioning while she became a certified instructor. She loves to teach a workout that is both challenging and in line with her clients needs. She is constantly expanding and growing her wealth of Pilates.

DanielleDanielle Gallo Danielle was involved in competitive team sports at a very young age. She played professional indoor and beach volleyball for many years, but with that came sports injuries such as a rotated hip, knee injury and lower back pain. She began taking Pilates at Hardcore Pilates with her best friend Gayle Russell. Within a couple months her knee pain and back pain completely went away. The extra bonus was her severe asthma completely subsided and of course the change in her body. She became leaner and defined. She fell in love with Pilates and became an instructor herself. She knows first hand how Pilates has changed her life and is driven to share this with others.

KenKenneth Heizman Ken brings to Hardcore Pilates the traditional exercise method of Joe Pilates, as taught to him by first-generation teacher Jay Grimes. He believes that results are what count, and that pilates exercises, performed with focus and control, produce results quickly and thoroughly, throughout the body. Ken attributes pilates to helping him to overcome old back injuries, and develop his own body into the best physical shape of his life. He began teaching pilates in 2005, while apprenticing with Siri Galliano at Live Art Pilates. He’s been teaching at Hardcore Pilates since 2009, and he has many success stories of satisfied clients. Ken is passionate about his work, and he enthusiastically shares the magic of pilates with his clients.

BadreBadre Bekir Badre has an unusual background of not having a love of sports or fitness at a young age. It was dance, however, that brought on the challenge og the mind-body connection without the ruthless competition of peers. This love of movement drove her to Pilates which she has practiced and used for cross training for over ten years and was recently certified to teach. By embracing each movement with complete awareness and mindfulness makes Pilates a not so easy yet rewarding workout.

LauraLaura Reed Augendre received her B.A. degree in international business from the American University of Paris in 2003 and took off into the business world as motivated as can be. Five years later, she could not shake the feeling that she needed and wanted something more from her job. Always interested in the medical/health field, Laura looked into getting her doctorate in physical therapy. From regularly practicing pilates she knew that it is used in physical therapy and thought what a perfect way to transition from business to school. So summer 08’ Laura started training to get her teaching certificate at Pilates Sports Center in Encino. She joined hardcore pilates at the end of spring 09’and loves her new career focusing on health, fitness and strengthening. She found what was missing in her former jobs through pilates, now feeling enriched knowing the positive impact she can make in the lives of others.

SarahSarah Steele grew up playing sports such as basketball, track, soccer and swimming. Always one to stay active, she turned to Pilates after she suffered a shoulder injury as well as having a low back surgery to remove two large benign tumors that were pinching her spinal cord. She started with at home DVD's, but quickly realized that Pilates could be so much more. She began training in West Hollywood everyday after work, and from there was introduced to Master Instructor Ivon Dahl. He encouraged her to follow her heart, quit her day job, and become an instructor. Through the one-on-one Master Certification Program with Ivon, Sarah was certified and began spreading her love of Pilates with her clients. She truly believes that every one can benefit from Pilates!

DanaDana Waters Dana spent the majority of her young life studying ballet. After having children, Dana's desire to stay in shape led her to yoga. She became a student of Bikram Choudhury and developed a deeper understanding of the body, mind and spirit connection. Later Dana would discover pilates. She realized the intense workout combined elements of yoga and dance, two things she loved very much, and she was hooked! While being a client of Gayle Russell at Hardcore Pilates, Dana decided to become an instructor. Getting certified through P.S.C., Dana can now share her passion and knowledge with others.
